Overview

High-quality BLS, taught by a working paramedic

The AHA BLS Provider course trains healthcare professionals and others who require BLS certification to recognize life-threatening emergencies, deliver high-quality CPR, use an AED and provide effective ventilations — both alone and as part of a team.

Our four-hour class focuses on what you'll actually do in a real emergency: lots of practice on adult, child and infant manikins, coaching on compression depth and rate, and team-based rescue scenarios.

FAQ

BLS questions, answered

Is this the BLS course my hospital or nursing school requires?

Most healthcare employers and schools require the American Heart Association BLS Provider course — which is exactly what we teach. If you're unsure, check with your employer or school, or contact us.

Is BLS the same as CPR?

BLS includes CPR but goes further, covering two-rescuer CPR, bag-mask ventilation and team-based resuscitation. It's the CPR course designed for healthcare settings.

How long is my certification card valid?

AHA BLS Provider, Heartsaver CPR/AED and Heartsaver K–12 course completion cards are valid for two years. We recommend renewing before your card expires.

When will I receive my certification card?

Your official AHA eCard is issued after successful completion of the course. You will receive an email from the AHA to claim it, and you can look it up any time at ecards.heart.org.

Are your classes in person or online?

All Pulse CPR classes are taught in person at our Miami training location. We do not currently offer online-only or blended (HeartCode) courses.
